The Sennheiser HD560S is a $200 open-back that’s tuned extremely well—almost flat bass extension with a balanced, neutral midrange and treble that stays pretty smooth. My main knock is that it still sounds like a 500-series headphone technically, and I don’t think it outclasses the HD6XX in detail, timbre, or bass texture. If you’re outside the US where 600-series pricing is high, it’s a much safer buy.

Pros

  • +Excellent neutral tuning for the price
  • +Surprisingly strong bass extension for a dynamic driver
  • +Generally comfortable with soft headband padding

Cons

  • -Build feels cheap with sharp molding edges
  • -Stock cable is thin and janky
  • -Not as detailed or natural-sounding as the HD6XX
