The Gilmore Lite MK2 is a fully Class A amp with a clean, simple feature set and dual RCA inputs. In my setup it sounded more compressed, with reduced dynamic contrast, and it noticeably pulled the HD 800 stage inward. It might still be a “flavor amp” for the right headphone, but it wasn’t my favorite here.

- +Smooth volume control feel and straightforward layout
Cons
- -More compressed presentation versus Asgard 3 in my A/B testing
- -Reduced soundstage on HD 800 (stage collapses inward)
- -Less dynamic contrast (micro and macro) compared to Asgard 3
- -Much higher price than Asgard 3 while I preferred the cheaper amp
