AirPods Max here
I bought the AirPods Max myself to see if Apple could keep their recent streak of great audio products going. They’re built really well and the transparency mode is genuinely top tier, but the tuning and technicalities are a disappointment for the price unless you’re paying specifically for Apple ecosystem integration.
Pros
- +Excellent metal build quality compared to most ANC competitors
- +Transparency mode is scarily good
- +Seamless Apple device pairing and auto-switching
Cons
- -Overly strong clamp can cause pressure points quickly
- -Treble is peaky/grating and upper mids feel recessed
- -Case design has oversights (cups can smack together; charging port doesn’t line up)
