Today, I’m going to show you how to calculate calories online using a super simple calculator. If you need to figure out your calorie intake for any reason, you can check out the calculator at cal.net/caloriecalculator.html. I know, it’s a mouthful, so I’ll drop the link in the description below for easy access. When you first open the calculator, it defaults to metric units, which means you’ll see centimeters and kilograms. If you prefer US units, you can switch to feet, inches, and pounds. For this example, let’s stick with metric. To get started, you just need to enter some basic details like age. I’ll use 35 years old for this demo. Then, you can choose male or female, set the height—let’s go with 188 centimeters—and enter the weight, which I’ll set at 95 kilograms. Next, we need to determine the activity level. The calculator provides options ranging from sedentary to extra active. For this example, I’ll select ‘active’. There are also more specific settings available, like entering a body fat percentage if you want to get more precise. Once everything is filled out, just hit the calculate button. In a flash, you’ll see your maintenance calories displayed. For our example, the calculator suggests that to maintain this weight, I need about 3,330 calories per day. Keep in mind, this is just a guesstimate. There are definitely more precise methods out there, but this calculator gives you a solid base rate. The calculator also provides a breakdown in tables, showing how many calories you’d need for weight loss if that’s your goal. For instance, if I wanted to lose weight at a rate of 0.25 kg per week, I’d need to consume about 2,780 calories daily. Remember, individual results may vary, but you can see all the options laid out clearly. Now, let’s quickly check out the US version of the calculator. If we switch to that, let’s say we have a 40-year-old female. I’ll set her height to 5’6” and her weight to 130 pounds, keeping the activity level as active. Again, you can adjust body fat percentage or any other details as needed. After clicking calculate, we’ll see the results for this 40-year-old woman. This calculator is super handy whether you’re using it for yourself or for clients. And the best part? You can bookmark it, so it’s always available on your phone, tablet, or desktop, no matter where you are in the world. I hope you found this video helpful for calculating calories online.
