In this video, I’m going to show you how to post something on Pinterest. It’s super simple, but first, make sure you’re logged into your Pinterest account. Once you’re in, look for the red create button on the right side of the screen. You’ll see three options: pin, board, or collage. If you want to create a board, just click on the board option. You can name your board and even add collaborators if you want. After that, just hit create. If you’re interested in making a collage, you can also select that option. This lets you combine pins from other users with your own, which is a fun way to curate content. Now, the most straightforward way to post on Pinterest is through the traditional create and pin method. This is what most people use for posting pins. You can drag and drop image or video files directly into the pin creation area. Yes, you can even post videos on Pinterest! Once you’ve dragged in your file, you’ll need to fill in some details. Start with a title, then add a description and a link. The link is essential because it directs people to your website or social media page if you’re promoting something. Pinterest really does make it easy to share your content. Let’s find an image to work with. I’ll just grab one from one of my sites. For this example, I’ll use the title “Decision Margin,” which is another one of my sites. You can add a description here and include your hyperlink, like decisionmargin.com. Next, you can choose which board to pin it to. I could tag it as “French New Wave,” even though it doesn’t fit. You can also add tags related to your content, like filmmaking or finance tips. There’s an option to add products as well, and you can even schedule your pin for a later date. Just click the scheduling option and set your desired date and time. Once everything is ready, you’ll click publish to make your pin live. I’ll show you what a finished pin looks like in just a moment. Now I’m back on my main Pinterest profile page, and I want to show you a finished pin. Let’s check out one from the Criterion Collection. You can see it has a lot of great-looking pins, including one for the classic film “Wages of Fear.” When you hover over the pin, you’ll see the title and a button to visit the site.
