In this video, I'm going to show you how to place text on a picture in Google Docs. I’ve got an untitled document open with some placeholder text, and I'm ready to add an image and some text. First, we need to access the drawing tool. At the top of the Google Docs toolbar, I click on "Insert." Instead of selecting "Image," I go down to "Drawing" and choose "New." This opens up a canvas window where we can work on our image and text. Now it’s time to add an image. I hover over the image icon within the drawing canvas and click on it. There are several ways to add an image: you can upload from your computer, use a webcam, or even add images from URLs, Google Drive, or Google Images. For this example, I’m going to click on "Browse" and select a pre-prepared image of a mountain landscape from Unsplash. Once I click "Open," the image is added to our canvas. Next, I want to insert some text. I select the text box icon, which looks like two T's, and click on it. This allows me to place the text anywhere on the canvas. I type in "These are mountains!" and can easily highlight it to make adjustments. I can change the size of the text, align it differently, and even move it around to get the perfect placement. If I want to change the font, I can switch from Arial to Helvetica New, and I have options to bold, italicize, or underline the text. I can also change the font color, although I jokingly pick a green that looks pretty bad! Once I’m happy with how everything looks, the last step is to click "Save and Close" in the top right corner. Just like that, the image with the text is added to my document. I hope you found this video helpful in learning how to add text to a picture in Google Docs.
