Today, I'm going to show you how to navigate directories using the Terminal on a Mac. If you haven't seen Terminal before, it's a command line interface that lets you interact with your computer in a different way. To find it, just go to your apps and type in "term" or "tur," and it should pop up. Click on it to open. Once you're in Terminal, you can start exploring your directories. One of the basic commands you'll use is "cd," which stands for change directory. For example, if you want to go to your desktop, you just type "cd desktop" and hit enter. This will take you to your Mac's desktop, where you can see your files and folders. Now, let's say you want to dive deeper and go into a specific folder on your desktop, like one named "logos." You can do this by typing "cd logos." This command will change your current directory to the logos folder, allowing you to work within it. If at any point you feel lost and want to know where you are, you can use the "pwd" command, which stands for print working directory. This command will show you your current location in the directory structure. It's super handy if you find yourself in a complicated maze of folders. Along with "cd" and "pwd," you also have the "ls" command, which stands for list. When you type "ls" and hit enter, it will display all the files and folders in your current directory. Think of it as a way to see what's inside the folder you're currently in. So to recap, we covered three essential commands: "cd" for changing directories, "pwd" for printing your current directory, and "ls" for listing the contents of a directory. These commands are the foundation of navigating through Terminal. I hope you found this video helpful! If you did, please give it a thumbs up; it really helps out.
