I’m Matt, and today I’m going to show you how to hyperlink text to an email address in Google Docs. I’ve got a random untitled document open, and I’ve pasted some text in here just for this demo. You might have seen how to hyperlink regular links, like the one to filmlifestyle.com in this document. Now, let’s get into how to hyperlink an email address. First, you want to highlight the email address you want to link. For this example, I’m using test.com. Once you’ve highlighted the text, look for the insert link tool in the toolbar, which is represented by a little paperclip icon. Click on that, and just like that, your highlighted text becomes a link. When you click on this newly created link, it’s set up to send an email directly from your Gmail account, assuming you’re logged into Google Docs. This makes it super easy for anyone who opens the document to reach out via email without the hassle of copying and pasting the address. You can link any email address this way. Once you’ve created the link, you can hover over it and click to send an email. Just remember, you’ll still need to type out your message in the email. It’s a pretty straightforward process. Now, if you don’t see the insert link option in your toolbar, don’t worry! You can still create a link by going to the top menu, clicking on ‘Insert,’ and then selecting ‘Link’ from there. This will allow you to create a link to an email address as well. Additionally, there’s a handy keyboard shortcut for this. If you’re using a Mac, you can press Command + K to quickly insert a link. This can save you some time if you’re linking frequently. I hope you found this video helpful for learning how to hyperlink an email address in Google Docs. If you did, please give it a thumbs up!
