In this quick video, I’m going to show you how to highlight text in Google Docs. I’ve got a blank document open with some demo text I found online, and I’ll walk you through the steps. First, you’ll want to open your Google Doc and select the text you want to highlight. This can be a single word, a sentence, or even multiple words. Just click and drag over the text to highlight it. Once you’ve selected the text, look at the toolbar at the top of the page. You’ll see the usual options like bold and italic. The highlight option is represented by a little pen icon. Click on that icon to open up the highlight color options. Now, you can choose your highlight color. If you want a classic luminescent yellow, just click that option, and your text will be highlighted instantly. If you want to highlight an entire paragraph, you can do that too. Just select the whole paragraph and repeat the same steps. You can also choose different colors for your highlights. For instance, if you want to highlight text in blue, simply click the highlight tool again and select blue. Just a heads up, though—sometimes the color can make the text hard to read. If that happens, you can change the text color as well. To change the text color, click on the text color option in the toolbar. For example, if you’ve highlighted in blue, you might want to change the text color to white to make it more readable. Just remember, if you can’t see the text after changing the color, you can always undo your last action. If you want to highlight just a couple of words, the process is the same. Select those words and choose your desired highlight color. You can even opt for a light green if that’s your preference! And that’s really all there is to it!
