I’m currently on the main page of Letterboxd at letterboxd.com. To find new releases, the first step is to click on the "Films" link at the very top of the page. Just a heads up, if you’re in your profile and click on "Films," it will only show your recent films and reviews, which isn’t what we want. We need the main link at the top. Once you click that, you’ll see a section for popular films this week. This is a great place to start scrolling through films that are trending right now, and most of these will be new releases. If you keep scrolling down, you’ll also find popular reviews for the week. If you click on "more," you'll see a list of films that have been released recently. Since it's early 2026 as I record this, you’ll notice a lot of films from this year. But there’s an even more effective way to find new releases. If you hover over the "Year" option at the top of the page, you can click on "Upcoming." This will show you all the films that are set to be released this year and in the coming years. Even though these films aren’t out yet, it’s useful to keep track of what’s on the horizon. You can also narrow down your search by decade. For example, if you want to see films from the 2020s, you can easily filter that. If you’re interested in 2025, you’ll find a massive number of films listed for that year. As of now, there are over 2,800 films already released in 2026, which is quite impressive. Now, here’s a little cherry on top. If you head back to the main page of Letterboxd, there’s a section called "Popular With Friends." This section usually features recent films that your friends have watched or liked. You’ll often find new films here, along with some older titles. If knowing what your friends are watching is important to you, this is a great way to discover films that might not be on your radar. So, just to recap, the main way to find recent releases is by clicking on "Films" at the top and checking out the popular films this week. You can also explore upcoming films by filtering through the years. It’s really straightforward to navigate Letterboxd and find what you’re looking for.
