I’ve been using it for years, and it’s an awesome development platform. First, you need to head over to the main downloads page for Visual Studio Code, which you can find at code.visualstudio.com/download. I know that URL is a bit long, so I’ll drop it in the video description for you to click on easily. Once you’re on the downloads page, you’ll see options for different platforms. You can choose from Windows, Linux, or Mac versions. If you’re on a Mac like me, you’ll have options for both Intel and Apple silicon chips. Just pick the version that matches your setup. If you’re using Windows, you can select your version there as well. If you run into any compatibility issues, don’t worry! There’s a section for previous versions of VS Code that you can check out. This way, you can find a download that works for your system. Once you’ve decided which version to download, just click on it. After you click your download option, it should start downloading automatically. If it doesn’t, there’s a direct download link you can click on instead. You’ll notice a little icon in the top right corner of your screen indicating that the download has started. Depending on your browser settings, the installer will usually go to your main downloads folder, but it could be different for you. Once the download is complete, all you have to do is follow the instructions provided by the installer. I’m using Google Chrome as my browser on this Mac, and all my downloads go straight to the downloads folder. So, make sure you check where your downloads are going.
