Today, I’m going to show you how to download Python. First off, you’ll want to head over to the main Python download page, which can be a bit tricky to find. The URL is python.org/downloads, and I’ll drop that link in the description below so you can easily access it. Once you’re on the download page, you’ll see a variety of Python versions available. If you’re new to Python, it’s been around for decades, and there are many versions depending on your operating system. Since I’m using a Mac, the site automatically recognizes that and suggests the latest version for Mac OS. To download, just click on the yellow-orange button at the top of the page. This is the standard installer version, which is super straightforward. While there are other methods to install Python, like using the command line or terminal, today I’m focusing on the graphical installer. On the downloads page, you can see all the recent versions for Mac OS. There are also older versions available if you need them for compatibility reasons. You can scroll through the list and click download for any version you want. If you’re curious, you can check out the release notes to see what’s new or updated. Python is also available for other operating systems like Windows, Linux, and even Android. The site has a timeline feature that shows different versions across platforms, making it easy to choose what you need. Once you click the button for the latest version, you’ll notice a download icon pop up in the top right corner of your screen, indicating that the file is downloading. Depending on your browser settings, like if you’re using Google Chrome, the installer will go directly to your downloads folder.
