Git is an essential tool for version control, and I’m currently on the main download page at git-scm.com/install. I’ll make sure to drop that link in the description below so you can easily find it. When it comes to installation, you have a few options based on your operating system. You can download Git for Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. There’s also an option to build it from source if you’re into that kind of thing. For Windows users, the process is straightforward. You can choose between the regular 64-bit version or the ARM 64 version, and there are even portable versions available. If you prefer command line installations, you can do that too. Just click on the version you need, and it will start downloading the installer. The download location will depend on your browser settings, and I’m using Google Chrome right now. Now, switching gears to Mac OS, Git often comes pre-installed on many Macs. If it’s not already there, don’t worry! I’ll show you how to install it using the terminal. First, you’ll want to open your terminal app. You can find it by searching for "Terminal" in your applications. Once you have it open, you’ll need to paste in a command to install Git. I’m using the Homebrew method, but there’s also a MacPort version if you prefer that. After pasting the command, just hit enter, and it will install Git on your Mac. It’s pretty simple! For Linux users, the installation process is similar. You can either build from source or use the Windows installer we discussed earlier. I hope this video helps you find, download, and install Git on your computer. If you found it useful, please give it a thumbs up!
