I’m Matt, and today I’m going to show you how to download FFmpeg. I use FFmpeg for a bunch of different tasks, and while you can get it through the command line, I’ll be focusing on how to grab it using the graphical user interface, which is much easier. First off, you’ll want to head over to the download page at ffmpeg.org/download. I’ll make sure to include that link in the video description for you. Finding this page can be a bit tricky since it’s not super obvious on the main site, but once you’re there, you’ll see a few options for different operating systems. If you’re on a Mac, like I am, you’ll want to look for the Mac version. There are also Windows and Linux versions available, so choose according to your system. For Mac users, I recommend clicking on the static builds for macOS. If you’re using Windows, just select one of the Windows options. Once you’re on the download page, it might look a bit overwhelming because there’s a lot of information. But don’t worry! Just focus on finding the most recent version of FFmpeg. You might have a specific version in mind, but generally, the latest one is the best choice. Keep in mind that you’ll also see other tools like FFprobe and FFplay listed there. If you scroll too far down, you might get distracted by those, but stick to downloading FFmpeg. For Mac users, I suggest downloading the zip version of the most recent release. So, go ahead and click that zip file to start the download. This will send the file to your designated downloads folder, depending on your browser settings. I’m using Google Chrome on my Mac, so it goes directly to my downloads folder. After the zip file finishes downloading, you’ll want to open it up. Inside, you’ll find the installer for FFmpeg.
