Whether you're on your profile or browsing the main site, it's super easy to grab a link for any film you come across. For instance, if I want to share a film like "The Navigator," I first need to navigate to its main film page. To do this, I hover over my profile image and click on my username to access my profile. From there, I can select one of my favorite films, like "Fitzcarraldo," which is directed by the famous Werner Herzog. Once I'm on the film's page, I can see the URL, which looks like letterboxd.com/film/fitzarraldo. Letterboxd has introduced a handy feature that simplifies sharing these links. You can either highlight the URL and copy it manually or use the new share button located at the bottom of the page. When I hover over the share button, I get the option to copy a shortened link. Clicking "copy to clipboard" confirms that the link is copied, and I can paste it anywhere I want, like on social media, in a newsletter, or even in a WhatsApp chat. This shortened link is great because it redirects to the full URL when clicked. So, if I paste it somewhere, it’ll still take people to the complete film page. Additionally, when I hover over the share button, I see options to share directly on platforms like Twitter, now known as X, and Facebook. If I choose to share on Twitter, it redirects me to my account and pre-fills a post with the film's background image and link. I can then add my own text or caption to personalize it. The same goes for Facebook; it sets up a post with the necessary details, ready for me to edit and share. In summary, there are three main ways to share a film link on Letterboxd: copying the short URL, sharing directly to X, or posting on Facebook. I hope you found this video useful!
