In this video, I'm going to show you how to convert images using Preview on a Mac. I've got a folder filled with images, including some JPEGs and PNGs, and I want to demonstrate how easy it is to use Preview for this purpose. First off, using Preview is super simple. All you need to do is double-click on the image, and it will automatically open in Preview. Once you're in Preview, you'll see a lot of options available to you. For this example, I have a PNG image that I want to convert into different formats. To start the conversion, go to the top menu and click on "File." Preview is quite powerful; you can even export images as PDFs directly from here. But for our needs, we'll focus on the "Export" option. When you hover over it, you'll see various formats you can choose from. Right now, my image is recognized as a PNG. If you click on the format dropdown, you'll see multiple options, including HEIC, JPEG, PDF, and TIFF. HEIC is a format commonly used on iPhones, so if you ever want to convert one of those images to JPEG, you can do it here too. For this video, I’ll convert the PNG to a JPEG. When it comes to quality, you can select from various levels, ranging from least to best. Generally, it's best to go with the highest quality, but keep in mind that the file size will be larger. For this example, I’ll save the JPEG to my desktop for easy access. After clicking "Save," I can immediately see the converted image on my desktop. It's a 5.8-megabyte JPEG image that I just converted from a PNG. When I double-click this new file, it opens in Preview, showing that the conversion was successful. Overall, Preview makes it super efficient to convert images. You can use it for nearly any image format. Just open your image in Preview, go to "File," and you can easily export it as a PDF or any other format you need. I hope you found this video helpful! If you did, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more tips like this.
