How to determine if you actually have a business

When are you officially operating a business or engaging in business activity? Many people have businesses and don't even know it. Operating a business doesn't necessarily mean you have a registered business with all the official administrative requirements in place. According to the Canada Revenue Agency, "a business is an activity that you intend to carry on for profit and there is evidence to support that intention." This could be something as simple as making crafts and selling them on Facebook marketplace.
