In this video I’m finally unboxing my custom Marc Jacobs handbag from the Bark Jacobs event—and yes, it has a hand-painted pet portrait of my Frenchie, Toast, right on it. I walk you through why I chose the Mini Dual bag (I own five Marc Jacobs bags now, but only two are leather), and what I love about this specific style: the rectangular shape, how much it can fit, and the silver hardware that’s totally different from the rest of my collection. Then we get to the grand reveal, and I genuinely can’t even—“it’s him.” I show the reference photo I gave the artist and talk about how impeccable the painting is, down to her asking me Toast’s exact eye color so she could nail it. I also share why I placed Toast on the back of the bag (so I can wear it forward-facing if I want), and how chic the bag looks even without the portrait.
