In this video I’m rating last night’s Vanity Fair Oscar After-Party red carpet looks from the perspective of someone who works in the fashion industry. I’m looking at the full picture—silhouettes, accessories, styling, and whether the vibe actually makes sense for the person wearing it. And yes, I’m being honest: some looks were stunning, and some were giving “I don’t get it.” I talk through Miley Cyrus in custom Amon Marella (amazing glam, but the dress felt like a piece of black fabric), and then Cynthia Erivo in Vivienne Westwood—hands down one of my favorites of the night because it felt light, airy, and such a departure from her usual edgy carpet energy. I also get into looks that felt dated or overly mature to me, like Hailey Bieber in Saint Laurent and Elle Fanning, and I call out when something is pretty but boring (Sydney Sweeney’s pink halter moment). There are a few standouts where the silhouette really worked: Lizzo in Versace was so hot and I loved the neckline and sheer tulle detail. I also share my mixed feelings on Kim Kardashian in Balenciaga (beautiful, but confusing and the back of the skirt was weird), plus quick takes on Kendall Jenner, Lindsay Lohan, Olivia Rodrigo, Jenna Ortega, and Emma Chamberlain—who was basically my number one.
