Tonight was a big night — one of my paintings got into a juried gallery show! Out of just under 1,000 artists, mine was one of around 250 picked. I spent the evening wandering the museum, hunting for my painting, checking out all the other amazing art, and hanging out with friends and family who came to cheer me on. But the night didn’t end there. My high school art teacher left me a surprise at the front desk… and it totally blew my mind! It was a self-portrait I drew 19 years ago — a piece I thought I’d never see again. I’d actually tried to find it a few years back, but came up empty. And somehow, it found its way back to me tonight. In this video, I take you along for the gallery opening, talk a little about all the “no’s” I’ve gotten from galleries over the years, and show you the moment I opened that long-lost drawing back in my studio. If you’re into art, chasing creative dreams, or just love a good full-circle moment… you’re in the right place. Thanks for coming along!
