Sendai Port Walk Pachinko & Sashimi | Villa Vie Odyssey

We decided to walk from the port into Sendai and see what we could find—and wow did the city surprise us! First stop looked like a grocery store…until we walked in and discovered rows of claw machines (UFO catchers) where you can win everything from snacks to household goods. Next, we popped into our very first pachinko parlor. In Japan, pachinko machines award prizes (not cash), so it’s more like a lively arcade than a casino—lights, sounds, and serious focus from the locals! Eventually we made it to a real supermarket, grabbed super-fresh sashimi and ate it right there—Lanette says it was the freshest of the trip so far. And of course, no Japan day is complete without a 7-Eleven run for snacks and to-go drinks.
