Our Troopy finally made it to the other side of the world—Australia to Vancouver—and honestly, it’s been one of the most stressful things we’ve ever done. A week ago we were on the couch in Tassie with Hazel, and now we’re 14,000km away trying to get our import paperwork stamped, chase customs approvals, and figure out where our 78 Series even is (spoiler: not where we thought it’d be). We take you through the whole mad dash: meeting the broker, running into customs, killing time with food and a very necessary Walmart mission, and then getting the call that one of the tyres is fully dead flat. The pickup itself was chaos. The Troopy was sitting in a bonded warehouse, forklifts were flying around like it was a video game, and we were convinced it was going to get wiped out right at the finish line. But the best moment? It started first go, rolled out into daylight looking basically like the day we left it, and we knew all the work had paid off. From there it was a right-hand-drive-in-Canada first drive (peak hour, no pressure), paying $2.50 for air like absolute daylight robbery, and then installing our new 300Ah house battery so we could get power back, run the compressor, and actually start living out of the Troopy again.
