About This Video

In this video, I’m designing an A3 citation layout in Photoshop, but the goal is simple: make it look clean and modern, and still keep it editable for Canva later. I start from the background—using the ellipse tool for a simple circle shape, then I switch to the pen tool to create that nice curved header. Because I’m designing it for Church of Pentecost people, I purposely mix blue with yellow, then I balance the brightness so the design doesn’t become “too much” and the text can still pop. After the base shapes, I build the structure with rotated rectangles, rounded corners, and a soft gradient style. Then I move into the typography: “CITATION” as the main bold title, “IN HONOUR OF,” and the body text with proper spacing so it reads well. I also show how I handle long text—sometimes it’s better to use a simple shape and clean formatting than forcing a whole paragraph to look fancy. To finish, I bring in a cut-out portrait (I compare different background remover tools), brighten it, and add a subtle reflected gradient behind it for depth. Then I add patterns from Freepik using overlay and low fill so it stays classy, and I top it off with the COP logo. If you miss anything, I always tell you: go back and watch it again—everything is recorded.
