In California's June 2nd Primary, voters in Los Angeles went to the polls, selecting Mayor Karen Bass and Councilmember Nithya Raman to move on to the November general election. Those voters also chose Kenneth Mejia to serve a second term as City Controller and backed "YES on Measure ER." All those victors crossed the finish line without an endorsement from the Los Angeles Times, not because the Times endorsed their opponents, but because, for the first time in modern elections, the Times provided NO endorsement on ANY local candidates or measures. Pulitzer Prize-winning Investigative Reporter Matt Hamilton explores the Times' decision, and its fallout, in his latest piece for L.A. Material: "The Endorsement Vacuum." Hamilton joins Micah Ohlman and Cher Calvin with more. June 19, 2026. Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/ktla?sub_confirmation=1
