Learn how to make 3 kinds of Diyas to light up your home this festive season. Preserve these creations for years on end by ditching the traditional oil & wick and replacing it with tea-light candles. Use tonnes of glitter to bring a sparkle into every corner of your home. Enjoy! WHAT YOU NEED: - Recycled CD - Clay Pot - Gemstones and Mirrors - Glue - Acrylic Paint - Glitter - Tea-light Candle - Glass Bangles - Glitter Foam Sheet - Circle Cardboard - Spoons - Pearl Beads WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: 0:27 CD base Diya 3:27 Glass Bangles Diya 5:12 Spoons Diya TIPS AND TRICKS: 1. CD Base Diya - Recycle old CD's to create the base of the diya. - Keep the CD face down and use shiny stones or mirrors so that the light can reflect off of it. - Add glitter to the outer surface of the pot so that it can reflect off of the face of the CD. - Apply glitter before painting the pot so that it doesn't get stuck on the paint. 2. Glass Bangles Diya - Use transparent bangles instead of opaque ones, so that the light can pass through it. - Using glitter is vital because it allows more light to bounce around. 3. Spoons Diya - When sticking the spoons, don't stick them too close to the centre because it can melt with the heat from the candle. - Use spoons made of thick plastic instead of the cheap plastic spoons.
