Shark comes with a lithium ion battery that’s already installed. It has to be fully charged before using. Put the charging dock with it’s back against a wall, the robot should be able to get to the dock without anything in it’s way- 5 feet in the front and 3 feet on the sides. Plug in the charging adapter. The power button is on the side, turn it on. The robot beeps when it starts charging. 3 blue led lights will cycle until charging is finished. 1 flashing light means low charge, 1 solid light means mid charge, 2 lights means nearly full and 3 lights means fully charged. When the cleaning cycle is finished or when battery is low, robot will find its way back to the charging station. Cordfree handheld vacuum comes with crevice tool and multi-surface pet tool. Put it into the charging dock, it also has to be fully charged before use. Takes 2.5 hours. Should be discharged fully first to properly condition the battery. I hope his review was useful.
