Meze 105 AER is a very comfortable open-back with excellent build and a tuning that I’d describe as silky, full, and slightly dark. The bass is surprisingly authoritative for an open-back, the midrange is lush and organic, and the treble stays smooth and forgiving while still keeping details in the mix.
Pros
+Excellent build, design, and materials
+Outstanding comfort with soft breathable velour pads
+Great bass authority and punch for an open-back
+Beautiful, warm, forward-leaning midrange for vocals
+Deep soundstage with strong imaging and layering
+Easy to drive and scales with better sources
Cons
-Not the most technical in its price range vs 109 Pro
-Treble can be too smooth/dark and may lack sparkle for some
