Join me at Findhorn Beach as I photograph the early morning light at low tide. What starts as a peaceful and relaxing morning photographing mirrored reflections, turns into one of excitement and awe as the sun comes out, creating dream conditions for landscape photography. Swapping my 24-700mm lens for my 100-400mm, I zoom into the scene and photograph a lone walker and swimming silhouetted against the golden light. Following the practical photography, I sit down on the sand and share a story about a conversation I had with a lady about how nature can help us regulate our emotions. Specialising in working with neurodivergent children, we quickly discovered our way of connecting with the natural world in very similar. This got me thinking about how important it is for us all to develop this connection. Whether we are neurodivergent, experience bouts of depressing and anxiety or are simply riding the natural waves of life. I share how spending time outdoors can support us in life and bring many positive emotions and experiences our way.
