Hello vlog — in this one I’m taking you with me as I start pursuing acting in real time at 27, like… from “who is this indie actress?” to actually showing up and doing the thing. I talk about my very official “qualifications” (aka childhood YouTube skits I wrote/produced/edited, four years of high school theater, and being background on sets like Netflix/Hulu/HBO). Working on Netflix’s Tires (season 2, episode 10 — catch me) was the week-long set experience that single-handedly inspired me to finally take acting seriously. You’ll see the messy, real parts too: driving to a chemistry read, running late, skipping coffee, and still choosing to show up. Then it’s headshot day — I explain why I upgraded from my self-timer headshots (they were fine, manageable, and yes, I booked with them) to professional shots as my next step toward agencies and getting an agent. I prepped with skincare, did my nails, rented a studio, and worked with an all-women “boss babe” team. And then… the big news: I booked my first lead role in a movie. We’re shooting in New York this summer, and I’m meeting the crew, including the director of photography, to run scenes and rehearse. My biggest takeaway: manifestation is cute, but it’s also auditioning nonstop and not giving up.
