Because I studied fashion in college and I’m obsessed with the meaning behind what we wear, I went for a compromise: muted reds so we still get our lucky red moment without going full bold. Then it got tricky because black and white are a hard no (in Chinese culture they signify death), and of course most of my shoes are black or white. I pulled out the only pair that worked—my western-ish boots (which honestly felt kind of perfect for Year of the Horse).
