Rev Captioning | Is it BETTER than Transcribing? Which One Pays more?

In this video we review Rev.com's CAPTIONING service, in particular being a freelancer. I answer some common questions you may have about the process, including which one pays more, which one is more difficult, and why it takes a long time to get accepted! Previously, I've made videos on this channel about the transcription process, but now let's deep dive into captioning - which has some similar components but really is it's own separate thing with a separate application. While transcribing involves listening to audio files and typing out what you hear, while closed captioning primarily focuses on video files, so it contains visuals, and you need to type out everything you hear - including sound effects, music, lyrics, etc. using Rev's captioning software. Closed captioning is everywhere, in the netflix shows we watch, and even in this video, so it's in high demand and there's lots of captioning work to be completed on Rev.com. I recommend applying to be both a transcriptionist and captioner so that you have access to a greater selection of work! If you're reading this, what do you think of rev captioning?
