You’ll hear me build the idea from the jump, lock in the groove, and then start stacking the drums until it feels right. When it hits, it hits—like I said in the video, “that’s the vibe.” After I lay the main parts, I add a little more drums and keep it moving. I’ll be real: my setup was glitching while I was trying to jam to it, so I focused on getting the beat down and then I went ahead and arranged it off-camera. At the end I play the full arranged beat for you—simple, not a lot going on—because I’m warming back up and getting back in the pocket.
