St. Patrick's Day Song with Irish Fiddle - Marie's Wedding: Van Morrison and the Chieftains (cover)

This song is best known as "Marie's Wedding" by Van Morrison and the Chieftains, but it's also known as "Mairi's Wedding", "The Lewis Bridal Song", and in Scottish Gaelic: "Màiri Bhàn" (which means "Blond Mary"). Even though this song is played by lots of Irish fiddlers, and is often heard during St. Patrick's Day celebrations, it's actually a Scottish folk song! Back in the 1930s, a fella named John Bannerman wrote it in Gaelic by for a gal named Mary C. MacNiven on account of her winning the gold medal at the National Mòd in 1934. I have a hunch the melody Bannerman used was much, much older - by centuries. Either way, by the 1950s, this became a popular Scottish country dance tune.
