Hello friends. In this video, I’m basically doing an updated “what’s in my bag” + my everyday carry as a grad student in 2025—aka the stuff I always make sure I have on me before I step outside. I’m kinda nosy so I love watching these videos, and I wanted to share the little essentials that keep me sane during long lab days, office days, and everything in between. Think: my iPhone 14 Pro (my first big US grad school purchase), AirPods Pro for maximum “shut the world out,” my Apple Watch for my healthy girl era ring-closing accountability, plus the boring-but-necessary wallet/keys situation. Then I go into my actual bag setup and why I switched from being a backpack-at-this-age apologist to finally getting a shoulder bag after a big conference (because yes, I wanted to look “professional”). I’m a sad beige aesthetic girly so my Longchamp was a no-brainer, and I added a Skullpanda plush for personality (and no, I will never EVER succumb to the Labubu propaganda). Inside, I’m carrying my MacBook Pro (greatest investment ever for content + Python/Jupyter workflow), my iPad Pro for thumbnails/short-form edits and occasional lab procedures in Notion, plus practical things like an umbrella (Michigan weather is chaotic—also normalize sunny-day umbrellas) and a small essentials pouch with emergency pads, lip touch-ups, and hand cream. I keep it minimal so my shoulders don’t hate me.
