About This Video

A couple days ago I had to submit a term paper for my soft condensed matter class, and between research + life I was dangerously close to missing the deadline. So in this video I walk you through the exact tricks I used to finish on time without sacrificing quality—because yes, I was cramming, and if you’re here… you probably are too. I break term paper writing into three phases: pre-writing, writing, and post-writing, so you always know what to do next (even when your brain is fried). In phase 1, I show how I choose a topic fast by narrowing it down (and making it question-based), then building a rough outline so I can see the “bird’s-eye view” of the paper. I also share how I find sources efficiently: skim abstract → figures → conclusion, save to Zotero, and write key takeaways in my own words. If you’re on a serious time crunch, I explain how I use Jenni AI to generate a solid outline, import papers (DOIs/PDFs/.bib), and even summarize papers via AI Chat. In phase 2 and 3, we get into the messy reality: starting is hard, perfectionism slows you down, and citations can become a nightmare if you leave them for the end. I use Jenni’s suggestions as a jumping-off point (never copy-paste blindly), add citations while writing, then polish for clarity, flow, and formatting (I export to .tex for Overleaf). And my final reminder: AI is a tool—your voice and analysis should still be yours… and please start earlier than I did.
