I’m not here to argue brands or trends—I’m showing you how food actually works in your dog’s body so your feeding choices finally make sense. German Shepherds don’t do well with dog foods that are heavy, highly rich, or just complicated, and that’s why you’ll see loose stool, gas, and hear the stomach noises… then you start switching foods, and that can add to the problem. I explain what “sensitive digestion” really means: food goes stomach → intestines (where nutrients are absorbed), but in sensitive dogs the food moves through too fast. When that happens, your dog isn’t absorbing the nutrition—even if the food is considered “good.” I also talk protein, because food sensitivity comes from the protein (not the grains). For a lot of German Shepherds, fish and turkey are usually easier to digest, while chicken is a common one that dogs can develop sensitivity to over time. Then I show you how to pick a simpler ingredient list (one protein, one carb, one fiber source), why fiber like pumpkin, sweet potato, or carrots helps slow digestion, and why slow transitions matter just as much as what you feed.
