Thousands of victims safeguarded in global operation against trafficking and migrant smuggling

A global law enforcement operation coordinated by INTERPOL has delivered major results against human trafficking and migrant smuggling, safeguarding more than 4,400 potential trafficking victims and detecting nearly 13,000 irregular migrants across 119 countries. Operation Liberterra III led to 3,744 arrests and the launch of more than 720 new investigations, as authorities disrupted criminal networks exploiting vulnerable men, women and children through sexual exploitation, forced labour, scam operations and dangerous smuggling routes by land and sea.
