About This Video

In this video I put ChatGPT 5.3, ChatGPT 5.4 Thinking, and Claude 4 through real-world tests that actually matter: creative brainstorming, factual accuracy, long-document retrieval, coding quality, and automation. GPT-5.3 ("Project Garlic") is fast and blunt, but it has three brutal issues in practice: the “labbotomy” creativity loss, confident hallucinations (it fabricated a fake 2024 “AI Safety Summit in Geneva”), and long-context failures where it forgets the middle of prompts even while claiming massive context. Then I tested GPT-5.4 Thinking, and yes—it’s powerful, but the tradeoffs are real. The thought stream looks like transparency, but a lot of the time it’s performance theater that adds painful latency. Where GPT-5.4 genuinely wins is “Computer Use”: it can operate messy legacy software through the UI like a human, which is huge for real corporate chaos. But that feature also raises serious privacy questions because the more the model can see on your screen, the more it can potentially capture. Claude 4 is the model I’d use for 90% of professional work: fast “zero latency reasoning,” better long-context needle-finding, and code that’s structured like something you can maintain and deploy. My verdict: don’t switch back to OpenAI unless you specifically need Computer Use—otherwise Claude is the superior daily driver in 2026.
