In this video, I’m honoured to share a privet (Ligustrum) bonsai styling and carving session taught by my good friend Robert Atkinson. Robert was more than an exceptional bonsai artist — he was a mentor, a teacher, and a true friend to so many of us in the bonsai world. His generosity with knowledge, patience at the bench, and passion for the art inspired countless people across all levels of bonsai. This carving and styling reflects not just technique, but the spirit in which Robert worked: thoughtful, respectful of the tree, and always willing to share what he knew. Every cut and decision in this video carries lessons he passed on over the years. Robert sadly passed away on 27 September 2025. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to learn from him, work alongside him, or simply share a conversation about trees. This video is shared in gratitude and remembrance. Thank you, Robert — for the knowledge, the friendship, and the legacy you leave behind.🌳 #Bonsai #PrivetBonsai #Ligustrum #BonsaiCarving #BonsaiStyling #BonsaiMentor #BonsaiLegacy #InMemory Auto Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqcdScSl_gg12yyk_XVyFAQ/?sub_confirmation=1 https://www.buymeacoffee.com/houghtonbo5 ☕🧢👕 Merchandise Shop ☕🧢👕 https://houghtonbonsai.creator-spring.com/ *Please be aware that all of the products I use in the video are given for your benefit only..
