Flying into Ishigaki Island, you immediately understand why people come all the way here. That water… it doesn’t even look real. If you’re planning a trip, try to get a window seat on arrival —this might be one of the best aerial views in Japan. [Sunset + Arrival] We landed just in time to catch this incredible sunset…and then headed to pick up our rental car. A quick tip —on Ishigaki, having a car is almost essential.Public transport is limited, and many of the best beaches and restaurants are spread out. By the time we arrived at ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort, it was already dark. [Lobby] But even at night, the first impression was strong. The lobby is open, airy, and quietly luxurious. Not overly flashy, but very much what you’d expect from a resort of this scale. [Room Tour] Now, the room. I would say it’s not “ultra-luxury” in a flashy sense, but it delivers exactly what a resort hotel should. • Spacious enough to actually relax • Clean, minimal, slightly tropical design • And most importantly — a balcony Also, you’ll notice something very typical in Japan:twin beds instead of one large bed. This is actually quite common, even in high-end hotels —it gives more flexibility for different types of guests, and surprisingly… better sleep quality for many people. [Dinner – Yaeyama Restaurant] For dinner, we went to Yaeyama Restaurant inside the hotel. And this was such a good decision. If you’re here, you have to try Yaeyama soba —it’s a local Okinawan specialty, slightly different from mainland Japanese soba.Richer, more comforting, and honestly… addictive. [Sunrise Balcony] The next morning…we woke up to this. Sunrise from the balcony. This is why you come to a place like this.No crowds, no noise — just you and the ocean. [Breakfast Buffet] We started with the breakfast buffet. It’s good — solid variety, both Japanese and Western options. But I’ll be honest… The more hotels you stay at,the less exciting buffets become. Curious if anyone else feels the same? [Exploring the Resort] After breakfast, we spent some time exploring the resort. And this is where this hotel really stands out. • Direct access to a private beach • Multiple pools • Water activities available on-site Honestly, you could stay here for days without leaving. [Club Lounge – Afternoon Tea] Then we went to the Club Lounge for afternoon tea. And I have to say —this was one of my favorite parts of the entire stay. The quality is noticeably higher than standard hotel lounges, and the service is incredibly professional — attentive, but never intrusive. [Sunset + Evening Shuttle + Dinner] After a short rest, we caught another sunsetand took the shuttle to the lounge again for evening service. This is one of the perks of staying in a Club room —you essentially get multiple dining experiences throughout the day. [Night Exploration – Activities] On the way back, we discovered something unexpected. This hotel is full of little surprises: • Mini basketball setup • Board games • Table tennis • Even a small shop And… a radio station. Yes — an actual live radio studio inside the hotel, broadcasting podcasts in real time. That was definitely not something I expected. [Day 2 – Club Breakfast] The next morning, we chose to have breakfast at the Club Lounge instead. And this is where things changed. Compared to the buffet, this felt calmer, more refined, and much higher quality. Less choice — but better execution. [Day 3 – Restaurant Breakfast + Natto] On our last day, we went back to the restaurant for breakfast. Still very good — and this is where I tried natto for the first time. And surprisingly… I loved it. I know it’s not for everyone, but if you’re curious — try it at least once. [Closing Thoughts] Overall, our stay here was… effortless. Relaxed, comfortable, and very easy to enjoy. It’s not trying too hard to impress you —and maybe that’s exactly why it works so well. Three days here felt like a real reset. And honestly…editing this video now just makes me want to go back.
