Checking into Sydney’s Luxury Hotels: My Stay at Crown Sydney After staying at Crown Sydney, I think it’s safe to say I’ve ticked off all of Sydney’s top luxury hotels, including my personal top three: Park Hyatt Sydney, Capella Sydney, and Langham Sydney. If you’re curious about Crown Sydney, stick around for my full review! We drove to the hotel, but given the staggering cost of on-site parking, we opted for Wilson Parking, about a 10-minute walk away, which cost less than half the hotel’s parking fee for an overnight stay. If you’re not driving, getting there is also super convenient—just a 5-minute walk from nearby metro or bus stops. About Crown SydneyOpened in 2020, Crown Sydney is a striking addition to the city’s luxury hotel scene, standing out with its unique exterior design. Located in Barangaroo, the building soars 271.3 meters with 75 floors, making it the tallest building in Sydney and the fourth tallest in Australia. The hotel is connected to a casino and a commercial center, though they have separate entrances. The exterior is undeniably grand, and the reception area is spacious with a modern, youthful design. However, the check-in process was underwhelming. While the staff were friendly, they didn’t seem particularly polished or professional. The RoomOnce in the room, I couldn’t help but think of Sydney’s W Hotel. The design feels very fast-fashion, and on closer inspection, there were several minor flaws in the details. That said, the view from the window is unparalleled—simply breathtaking—though the dirty windows slightly dampened the experience. Some nice touches include TWG tea in the room and an electronic screen to control the curtains and lights, though the switches were surprisingly noisy. The bathroom layout was decent, and the amenities were all right, though not particularly memorable. The ExperienceOne highlight was the stunning views from the elevator corridors, and strolling around the hotel in the evening was quite pleasant. However, the hotel’s merchandise-branded toiletries were of average quality, which felt disappointing for a luxury property. Breakfast and AmenitiesIn the morning, we checked out the pool, which was nice, but the breakfast experience was a mixed bag. While it had one of the most extensive selections I’ve seen at a hotel, the dining environment was chaotic and overcrowded, with time limits imposed on diners. It felt more like a bustling market than a luxury hotel breakfast—noisy and stressful. If you enjoy peaceful, leisurely breakfasts, this might not be the place for you. Final ThoughtsCrown Sydney is often placed in the second tier of Sydney’s luxury hotels, alongside the Four Seasons, Shangri-La, and InterContinental. However, in my opinion, it charges first-tier prices without delivering even second-tier service and experience. That said, its location and views are undeniably top-notch. If I were to spend the same amount again, I’d undoubtedly choose Park Hyatt or Capella instead. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next video!
