Upgrade

If you decide you actually want Fender Studio Pro 8, this is the upgrade link I point people to. For me, the main reasons to consider it are the new reverb and the Mustang Native plugin—not the renamed menus or the Ableton-style layout changes.

Pros

  • +Gets you into Studio Pro 8 quickly if you’re ready to move up
  • +Includes the newer stock plugins I found most compelling

Cons

  • -Workflow/UI changes may feel like a hassle if you’re used to older versions
  • -Not a must-have upgrade for casual home recorders

What Chris Green | Home Studio Producer says

The next route I want to talk to you about is the upgrade plan
You can actually upgrade from Studio One 5, the Artist version, to a perpetual license of Fender Studio Pro at just like $99
So, if you happen to have an old PreSonus audio interface, you probably have access to an Artist version that you can download today and then you can get the upgrade plan
Again, make sure you click the link in the description for upgrade
If you are somebody that's constantly up updating your computer, your MacBook wants to upgrade to the latest operating system, the longer you hold on to a perpetual license, the more likelihood there is that that license will no longer receive support
