The perpetual license is the “one-time purchase” route—great if you’re more traditional like me and you mainly need a solid DAW for guitars, drums, and vocals. Just understand the tradeoff: over time, OS updates can outpace your version, so I recommend downloading everything you need and keeping your system stable.
Pros

- +Great fit for traditional recording workflows (guitars, drums, vocals)
- +Can be locked into a stable, offline “tape machine” style setup
Cons
- -Future OS updates can make older versions unsupported
- -Not automatically on the latest version/features without paying for upgrades
