About This Video

In this video I break down what “AI” in TVs actually means in 2025, because I keep seeing AI slapped on every box and I don’t want you (or me) getting scammed by marketing mumbo jumbo. I explain it in a simple way: modern TVs aren’t just a basic CPU anymore. You’ve basically got three “brains” working together — CPU, GPU, and an NPU (neural processing unit) — and that NPU is what drives the AI features. I go through the two big areas where AI TVs help: brand-new abilities and overall experience upgrades. On the picture side, AI upscaling is a huge one — if you’ve got a 4K/8K TV but you’re watching Full HD or lower-quality sources, the TV can sharpen details, smooth motion (great for sports), and even improve color accuracy and shading. For gamers, I talk about motion/frame generation style tech where the processor predicts frames to make motion look smoother. On the sound side, my favorite feature is dialogue enhancement, because I’m tired of scenes where explosions are loud but I can’t hear what people are saying. I also share what I’d personally look for in-store: the newest processor generation matters a lot (Samsung NQ8 Gen 3, LG Alpha 9 Gen 6, Sony Cognitive Processor XR). And yeah — I’ll buy AI, but no camera TV, because that’s a freaking risk.
