About This Video

In this video, I’m decorating my kitchen for the holidays—but really, it’s not about my kitchen. It’s about holiday decor and how to make your favorite pieces look their best: lifted, enhanced, and a little more special. I walk you through how I build quick vignettes using “feature items” (like my Lenox Santas and snow globes) and then a supporting cast—ribbon, ornaments, beads, twinkle lights, faux florals, and even fruit. My whole goal is to help you avoid that “flat” look by adding height, foundation, and a bit of glimmer. I also share some of my more creative tricks, like using an upside-down dog bowl as a platform (yes, really), layering with a ribbon remnant to hide labels and create a base, and using paintings in the background when my modern backsplash doesn’t play nicely with classic Christmas decor. We do little “stories” too—like a tea setup with Lenox cups—and I show how repeating themes (brown glass, magnolias, ribbon bows, twinkly lights) pulls the whole room together. Plus, I share a simple DIY fix: if a snow globe base has a color you’re over, acrylic paint is your best friend.
