How to Make Hello Kitty Cookies with Cherry Blossom Bow

Visit me at www.hamsterpinkie.com Basic Sugar Cookie Recipe Dry Ingredients: 3 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt Wet ingredients: 1 cup (2 sticks) soften butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon flavored extract (cherry blossom extract, almond, strawberry, lemon, etc) Wet Ingredients: Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs and extracts and mix until combined. Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Should be hard and a bit crumbly. Do not overmix. Sprinkle a generous amount of flour in the rolling mat. Pour mix over the rolling mat and knead into a ball and flatten like a disk. Cut dough in half. Roll out half of the dough to 1/4" thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Re-roll the random left over pieces. Marshmallow Fondant Flowers 1-10oz bag of mini marshmallows 2 pounds of powdered sugar 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening In a large mixing bowl, pour in the bag of mini marshmallows. Microwave for 30 seconds and mix. Microwave again for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave. Add in 2 cups of the powdered sugar and mix until combined. Grease hands with the shortening and knead the mixture. Continue to add the powdered sugar and knead while adding the shortening to the hands until fully combined. Keep kneading the mixture until it can be turned into a ball. The texture should be slightly stretchy, like Play-doh. Add food coloring and more shortening and knead in the color. Use powdered sugar to dust rolling mat and roll out.
