Pitney Bowes just had 8.2 million customer records dumped online — and this is the third time they've been breached in seven years. In April 2026, ShinyHunters — the same extortion group behind recent breaches at Odido, Udemy, and Medtronic — claimed to have obtained over 25 million records from Pitney Bowes' Salesforce environment after a compromised employee email account reportedly gave them access. After negotiations reportedly failed, the data was posted publicly. Have I Been Pwned confirmed 8.2 million unique email addresses in the dump, along with names, phone numbers, physical addresses, and employee records with job titles. Pitney Bowes confirmed the breach but said there was "no indication that sensitive personal data was accessed." Pitney Bowes was previously hit by Ryuk ransomware in 2019 and the Maze ransomware gang in 2020.
