This budget PTZ security camera looked great on paper… but how does it handle the things that actually matter in real life? Today I’m testing the Tiejus MG3 in a full series of motion, tracking, night, and latency tests. 👉 Amazon US: https://geni.us/bpsd5A (Amazon) As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This product was sent to me for review. The Tiejus MG3 3MP Security Camera promises 360° pan-tilt control, 24/7 recording, dual-band WiFi, and color night vision — but in my real-world tests, performance didn’t live up to the specs. Tracking struggled constantly, the app had heavy lag even when standing right in front of the camera, and night motion was extremely blurry and pixelated. Moving cars produced a blown-out white rectangle where the license plate should have been. Even detection zones failed to save, likely due to connection instability only 12 feet from the router (through a wall). While daylight image quality was decent, several core features simply didn’t perform well enough to recommend this model for critical outdoor security needs. 🔧 Key Features: 👉 24/7 Continuous Recording – Constant recording with no motion-only gaps 👉 360° PTZ Coverage – 355° horizontal and 90° vertical rotation for flexible viewing 👉 Auto Motion Tracking – Attempts to follow movement, though struggled heavily in testing 👉 3MP 2K Resolution – Clear daylight video but soft and blurry at night 👉 Color Night Vision – Built-in floodlight provides color, though motion was pixelated 👉 Dual-Band WiFi – Supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but connection stability affected performance 👉 Two-Way Audio – Built-in mic and speaker for communication 👉 Local/Cloud Storage Options – Supports SD cards up to 128GB or cloud subscription 👉 IP66 Weatherproof Housing – Rated for outdoor use in rain, snow, and heat 👉 Easy Installation – Included hardware for quick mounting ⭐ Why You’ll Love It: This camera offers a long feature list at a budget price, with decent daytime clarity and simple installation. However, in real-world use, several critical areas underperformed — including motion tracking, app responsiveness, night motion clarity, and license plate visibility. If you need reliable tracking, crisp night video, or strong app performance, you may want to consider higher-end PTZ models. For basic daytime monitoring on a budget, it might still work, but expectations should be modest. 🎥 Watch more Outdoor Security Lighting & Cameras – Real-World Tests: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLylQn2prNlPNSto1qEmBfwq7jwdD4EiNb&si=yIS0T25XFLcML2Mq ____________________________________________________________________ **Some of the links above are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through these links.
