Ahead of the 10th anniversary of 15-year-old Natasha Ednan-Laperouse's death, her parents are making it their mission to create a future without food allergy. Natasha died on a flight when she ate a sandwich that contained sesame seeds. The sesame seeds were not visible, and the allergen was not marked on the label. Natasha’s death was entirely preventable. Today, Natasha’s Foundation, the food allergy charity set up in her name, launches a £10 million prize, opening up applications to the world’s brightest scientific minds to develop solutions to the food allergy epidemic which affects 220 million people worldwide. The first 1,000 days have been chosen as it represents a critical window of opportunity to intervene to prevent food allergy. Her mother, Tanya Ednan-Laperouse OBE, speaks with Good Morning Britain.
