There is too much clearance under both gates which allows the neighbor cat into my backyard, and Sadie and one chicken to escape. The neighbor cat is fine because he eats mice around the chicken coop. The one time that Sadie escaped she went right to the next door neighbor's house and barked until they came out. She wanted to play with them! She is too smart for her own good. The one hen who follows me like a dog limboed under a section of a gate to get into the front yard. There is plenty of grass in the backyard, but you know the old saying - The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I want to eventually put in new driveways on both sides to prevent access under the gates, but for now I poured gravel on the dirt side to prevent escapes. Many more cat videos will be uploaded.
